Nina Sings Warren

7:48 AM 0 Comments

My favorite singer in the Philippines is back with a new album under Warner Music Philippines, Nina Sings the Hits of Diane Warren. I am super duper happy about these information that I got from NinaSoulSiren.com through Mico a fellow NSSian.

And here's a very touching letter from Diane Warren that she gave to Nina..

"A few years ago Nina cut, ‘I Don't Want To Be Your Friend,' one of my favorite songs. I am very happy that she is now coming out with an entire album filled with the songs that I'm proud of. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of a lot of hits together. Thank you."

I love her. Let's support her.

Let Them Know, Be Proud!

5:55 PM 1 Comments
It is never unusual whenever you ride the train and some people perform gimmicks inside just to ask for money. There are days that I had witness people who sings with our without an instrument, a group of dancers perform their stunts inside the car, differently able people who asks for your sympathy by giving them money and some were asking money because they said they are missionaries who devoted their lives to Christ and they need our support.

I know I don’t have the right to judge them because I don’t know their lives. But hey! Before you react, I would just like to let you know that this post is not about them. This is about the two Koreans I saw in the train this afternoon.

And to let you see what I saw, I took a picture of them secretly. I hope nobody noticed me because I don’t want people to think that I was making fun of them.

Here’s the pictures...and although I took a lot but this is just the best that I can do with a moving train, a camera phone and I was like maybe 10 meters away from them.

Can you read it? It says BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS.

These two koreans ride the train and then transferred to another train (of course I was there too) with this sign board. They didn't ask for anything or said anything.

This brave action is just so touching, inspiring and cute. Yes, cute! lol
Idk what did the other passengers think about them or if they noticed these two, but for me it gave me comfort especially this times that there is an increase number of atheist in the world.

Yes! I'm affected about that and I don't need to explain it. All you need to know is that I'm a christian.

Be proud to let other people know that you BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS!

Say No to Racism!

4:34 PM 0 Comments
Yesteray when I was at the train I heard a very distrubing comment from an old day referring to two black teenagers. The scenario was, these two teenagers, a boy and a girl, was sitting across us came in with a packed meal from a chinese restaurant. So as they were talking and sharing the food the napkin fell on the floor.

Then here comes this old lady talking out loud who was sitting about 3 seats from us and said, "Look at them, they are throwing trash on the floor. That's why people never like them because they act as if they are not human."

And she believes that saying those things makes her more human? First thing was the napkin just fell and they didn't throw it. Second, she's just a racist that's why it is easy for her to say those words.

Racists tend to notice the mistakes of other people more often no matter how many times they do good. Because of the hate that they feel, they can only see the negative things about other race.

I just don't get the perception of racists towards other race. Because I believe that there is an equal amount of someone in each race. There are good and bad White Americans. There are good and bad Black Americans. There are good and bad Filipinos, Chinese, Japanese, Mexicans and the list goes on.

Same as the saying that "No Man is an Island", I believe that we couldn't have a better world without each and every piece of something from other race.

Just say no to racism please!

Rainbow's End

I would highly recommend this book for all those who wanted to read a story about love with the spice of spirituality. I think Irene Hannon did a great job in this book. The story is unique and very inspiring. The faith of the characters despite of the trials that they had made me reflect with my own.

Here's the SYNOPSIS from http://www.irenehannon.com/synopses.htm

"Broken, empty and alone after a cross-country search for answers, Keith Michaels takes refuge with reclusive artist Jill Whelan when a sudden storm strands him on Orcas Island. Scarred by her own tragedy, Jill expects the disturbing stranger to leave the next day. But Keith finds unexpected solace on her isolated property, and his one-night stay turns into an extended visit when he agrees to build a studio for her. As these two lonely people join forces to help a little boy in need, will they reconnect with life—and find healing, hope and love at Rainbow’s End?"

The story is very perfect for the saying that my guy had shared-"If your life sucks today, It doesn't mean it will suck forever."

Life is surely not just about happiness and success. It had stored a lot of trials for us; and these trials are not meant to tell us that God doesn't care nor He's not real. Failures, pain or misery are given to us to test our faith.

I like the prayer of Keith of Rainbow's End when he finally surendered all his worries to God and the prayer goes like this...

"Lord, I thank You for the blessings You've given me thes past two years. Even when I was mired in doubt, even when I was lost in darkness, even when I turned my back on You, I realize now that You were by my side. Just waiting for me to turn to You, to ask for help without demanding answers. To take Your hand in trust, as a child takes the hand of a loving father, knowing that He will be protected and cherished and guided safely through danger. I'm sorry it took me such a long time to see the light. To understand and accept the very words....-Come to me, all you who labor and overburdened, and I will give you rest."

I know it is not easy to surrender our burdens, bitterness and anger to the Lord but once it is done life would be easier to live. God did not promised that His way would be easier but trusting Him will make it easier for you to take.

Take advantage with your troubles to be closer to Him. Trust the Lord and take His hand and soon you will find rest.

Have a blessed day everyone and enjoy reading!

An Atheist Started to Believe

4:41 PM 1 Comments
I am not an atheist and I definitely adore and worship God with all of me. I made this whatever-it-is-called as I started to reflect why there is an increase number of atheist in the world. I tried to put my self in the shoes of an atheist and I tried not to be bias. But I guess God is just too good for me not to acknowledge His presence.

When I woke up this morning,
I wondered who I am;
Will I be the same man who will
live his life the way he wants?
What if I'll say I'm tired now
And I want to end my journey
Will it end because I wanted it to be?
But end my journey going where?

OMG I guess I am lost now.
Oh my! I just said God.
Does He really exist?
I mean, no he doesn't!
But what made other people believes
he does?

They said He made the world in 6 days
Like, how could that possibly be?
No man could be that powerful based in Science
and there's no evidence for that.

Oh wait, yes!
They said he's not a man.

But c'mon people,
Science has the evidence of evolution.
Man evloved from monkeys.
But wait, if evolution is true;
Then where did the first thing comes from?

Somebody must have made it.
But who did?
Man is the most talented and clever.
But they just evolved from monkeys.

Oh wait!
Maybe some powerful creature made it.
Is that creature named God?
Is my life's journey leading to Him?

You, the so called God..
You won't let me end my life, will you?
Well fine!
I guess it won't hurt to let you talk
And let my heart listen.

Maybe you are true
Because the world is still revolving
despite of all the crimes, hatreds and calamities.
OMG you are really true!
I guess I am starting to cry now.
I am crying now.
I think you are really true.
I think I've missed you God!

Nursing: The Healing Ministry of Jesus

11:24 AM 1 Comments
Taking up Bachelor of Science in Nursing in the Philippines became a fad nowadays. It gives the Filipinos the hope of being able to work abroad and earn more than what their own country can give them. Because of this, most of the people considers taking this course solely just because of the greener pasture it gives.

As for me, deciding to take up this course is actually my own choice, my passion to serve other people and as my vocation-a way of serving God. I know a lot of people who thinks nursing is not just because of the money and some of which are my friends.

Being able to work in the hospital opened my eyes to the wonders of God. Like how creative and perfectly God made each of our organs to make our body function well and how only the hands of God can heal the sick.

I also felt blessed to have the opportunity to help in taking care of other people and be the one who gives care. Everyday, as I learn and experience more about this course, my faith is also strengthened. There is no procedure or step I make that I don’t ask for God’s help because I know I am dealing with lives. The hospital will also help you realize that not even the strongest drug or the best doctors can cure a patient. It is only God and your faith that could actually heal the sick.

Nursing is actually a mixed career- you give care, do health teaching, pray for your patient, be resourceful and improvise the things that you have in order to do a procedure successfully. It is a noble job that follows the healing ministry of Jesus.

This is the best reason that I can give why I am proud to be a student nurse and why NURSES ROCK!

10 must try exotic fruits

9:40 AM 1 Comments
I saw this article about the 10 must try exotic fruits and I was honestly amazed because i had already tried most of it. I never thought it is exotic for some people. Among the 10 foods, my favorites are mangosteen, jackfruit, and durian.

1. Rambutan
Native to Malay Archipelago, Southeast Asia
Coming from an evergreen tree, the Rambutan fruit resembles the Lychees, have a leathery red skin and are covered with spines. Rambutan is a popular garden fruit tree and one of the most famous in Southeast Asia. The fruit is sweet and juicy, being commonly found in jams or available canned.

2. Jackfruit
Native to southwestern India, Bangladesh, Philippines and Sri Lanka
Jackfruit is a common fruit for Asia and Australia and considered as one of the largest tree borne fruit in the world. The juicy pulp around the seeds have a taste similar to pineapple, but milder. Apart from canned jackfruit, it is also available as sweet chips. The wood of the tree is used for making various musical instruments, while the fruit is a common ingredient for many Asian dishes.

3. Passion Fruit
Native to South America, grown in India, New Zealand, Brazil, etc
The passion fruit has a soft, juicy interior full of seeds, being commonly found in juices to boost their flavors. There are two types of passion fruit: the golden one (maracuyá), similar to a grapefruit and the dark purple passion fruit (gulupa), comparable in terms of size with a lemon. However, the latter ones have been reported as being mildly poisonous.

4. Lychee
Native to southern China, found in India, Taiwan
Coming from an evergreen tree, the lychee or litchi are small white flesh fruits, covered in a red rind, rich in vitamin C and with a grape-like texture. The fruit has started making its appearance in markets worldwide, refrigerated or canned with its taste intact.

5. Star fruit
Native to Indonesia, India and Sri Lanka
The star fruit comes from the carambola, a species of tree with pink flowers grown even in the US. The golden-yellow fruit is crunchy, sweet, with a taste of pineapples, apples and kiwis combined. There are two kinds of star fruits - acidulate and sweet, both rich in vitamin C. The fruit is particularly juice, some even making wine out of it.

6. Mangosteen
Native to the Sunda Islands and the Moluccas.
The mangosteen is another evergreen tree that produces oddly shaped fruits. The fruits are purple, creamy, described as citrus with a hint of peach. It is rich in antioxidants, some scientists even suggesting it can lower risk against certain human diseases, such as cancer. There are even legends about Queen Victoria offering a reward to the one that brings her the fruit.

7. Kumquat
Native to China
The kumquats or cumquats are small edible fruits resembling oranges that grow in a tree related to the Citrus. As with most of the fruits in the Citrus family, the kumquats are eaten raw. They are often used in marmalade and jelly but also in alcoholic drinks such as liquor. The Taiwanese add it to their teas, while others boil it and use it as a remedy for sore throats.

8. Durian
Native to Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia
Also known as the “King of Fruits,” Durian has a very particular odor, a unique taste and is covered by a hard husk. Having a disagreeable smell, compared to skunk spray or sewage, the fruit is forbidden in hotels and public transportations in Southeast Asia. Still, the whole experience is worth it, considering the absolutely divine taste of the Durian.

9. Dragon Fruit
Native to Mexico and Central and South America
Dragon fruit, strawberry pear or pitaya is a fruit of several cactus species with a sweet delicate taste and creamy pulp. The most common dragon fruit is the red pitaya, but other varieties include the Costa Rica pataya and the yellow pataya. Juice or wine can be obtained from the fruit, while the flowers can be eaten or used for tea.

10. African cucumber
Native to Kalahari Desert, Africa
The African cucumber, horned melon or melano is a fruit that can be best described as melon with horns. It originated in the Kalahari Desert and is now present in California and New Zealand. The dark green pulp reminds one of bananas, limes, passion fruit and cucumber. It is often used for decorating food but also in smoothies and sundaes.

The Duck and The Devil

1:55 PM 0 Comments
There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods. He practiced in the woods; but he could never hit the target. Getting a little discouraged, he headed back for dinner. As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck. Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved! In a panic, he hid the dead duck in the wood pile; only to see his sister watching!

Sally had seen it all, but she said nothing After lunch the next day Grandma said, "Sally, let's wash the dishes" But Sally said, "Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen." Then she whispered to him, "Remember the duck?" So Johnny did the dishes.
Later that day, Grandpa asked if the children wanted to go fishing and Grandma said, "I'm sorr! y but I need Sally to help make supper." Sally just smiled and said, "Well that's all right because Johnny told me he wanted to help" She whispered again, "Remember the duck?" So Sally went fishing and Johnny stayed to help.

After several days of Johnny doing both his chores and Sally's; he finally couldn't stand it any longer. He came to Grandma and confessed that he had killed the duck. Grandma knelt down, gave him a hug and said, "Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was standing at the window and I saw the whole thing, but because I love you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would let Sally make a slave of you."

Thought for the day and every day thereafter? Whatever is in your past, whatever you have done... and the devil keeps throwing it up in your face (lying, cheating, debt, fear, bad habits, hatred, anger, bitterness, etc.)...whatever it is...You need to know that God was standing at the window and He saw the whole thing. He has seen your whole life.
He wants you to know that He loves you and that you are forgiven. He's just wondering how long you will let the devil make a slave of you. The great thing about God is that when you ask for forgiveness; He not only forgives you, but He forgets. It is by God's grace and mercy that we are saved.

When Jesus died on the cross; he was thinking of you!
